Keep the Period Look When You Upgrade Your Steering
Chevrolet's Advance Design trucks launched the 1947 model with a lot of fanfare. They became the best-selling truck every year they were in production. You could find them in quarter-, half-, and one-ton models, in standard and short-bed versions. The same design also underpinned the Suburban and panel truck.
This generation is still popular today, from stock-style restorations to LS-swapped restomods. The original dash paired a fixed steering column with an 18-inch steering wheel and two large round gauges. That look works well with the truck's overall design. But once owners swap in GM tilt columns or aftermarket tilt columns, factory-style steering wheels don't always fit right anymore.
We like the classic Advance Design steering wheel's styling, so we built a version that keeps the look but fits modern tilt columns. That's how this 15-inch AD-series steering wheel came about.
Fits 1969-1994 GM Tilt Columns or Aftermarket GM-Spec Tilt Columns
We sized this wheel at 15 inches instead of the original 18, since that's a better match for trucks running power steering — the bigger factory wheel has more leverage than you need. Since tilt column upgrades are so popular, we built in a standard 1969-1994 GM center spline. That means it mounts straight to your GM tilt column or aftermarket tilt column, no adapter required.
Not every reproduction wheel is built the same way. Like the original, ours has a welded steel core and spokes for strength, molded in OE-style satin black polymer from an accurate cast of the original design. It's accurate enough to use your original or reproduction horn contact plate and horn center cap, so you keep the correct look at a smaller, easier-to-live-with diameter. The back of the wheel is formed to match the column for a seamless factory appearance.
Whether you're adding a power steering kit or a full front suspension kit with power rack-and-pinion, this 15-inch AD-series wheel is built to pair with it.

What if it is not right for the truck?
You have 30 days from delivery to return it by mail. Return shipping is on you, and the part needs to come back uninstalled and unmodified - once a panel has been trimmed or welded it cannot go back. Made-to-order items are final sale. The full terms are on our returns page.
Can I install this myself?
It is designed for a home install with ordinary hand tools, and the fitment notes on this page list anything that needs drilling, trimming or welding. Where an installation guide or video exists for the part it is linked in the Installation tab.
