Tailgate trunnions for 1947–1953 GMC and Chevy trucks, CNC machined from 6061 billet aluminum. The two-piece design runs on Delrin bushings instead of the metal-on-metal arrangement the factory used, so the gate swings smoothly instead of grinding.

Installation
O-rings go onto the Delrin bushing to take up the variation between factory and aftermarket tailgates. Thin and thick rings are both in the kit, so you can suit the fit of yours.
Stainless bolts, nylon lock nuts and washers are included.

Common questions
Is it a bolt-on?
Yes. It replaces the factory trunnions and goes on where the originals came off.
Will it quiet the tailgate down?
That is what it is for. The trunnions run on Delrin, so the gate opens and closes quietly instead of grinding, and the metal parts are stainless steel or billet aluminum, so they do not rust.
Is mounting hardware included?
It depends on the kit - the Features list on this page says whether hardware is included, optional or reused from your truck.
How do I know it fits my truck?

How long before it ships?
It is a stock item and generally ships within 1-3 business days. Carrier transit time is on top of that, and larger orders can arrive in more than one box on different days.
What if it is not right for the truck?
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. The part needs to come back new, uninstalled and in its original packaging - once a part has been trimmed or welded it cannot go back. Return shipping is at your cost, and we ask that returns come by Canada Post. Made-to-order, sale and clearance items are final sale. The full terms are on our returns page.
