1947-54 Chevy & GMC Truck Door Parts
Original 47-54 door latches wear out, and a door that has to be slammed twice is the fastest way to spoil an otherwise finished truck. The Altman door latch kits are the fix, split by cab: 47-51 and 52-54 have their own kits, and the Altman Easy Latch exists specifically for the common swap of 52-54 doors onto a 47-51 cab. There is a matching Altman hood latch kit for 47-54.
For the rest of the door, there are power window kits in two year splits — 1947-1950 and 1951-1954 — plus universal window cranks if you are keeping it manual, billet door handles for 52-54, universal interior handles, and door panels in two directions: bead rolled aluminum if the interior is going industrial, ABS panels for 47-55 if it is going upholstered. Check which cab you have before ordering latches; the 51/52 split is the one people get wrong.
