If you have already traded the factory hood springs on your 1947–1954 Chevy or GMC for an LS Fabrication hood strut kit, these billet brackets replace the stainless brackets that came with it. Machined from 6061 aluminum in the USA and sold as a pair.

Common questions
Is this a complete hood strut kit?
No. It is an upgrade for an existing LS Fabrication 47-54 hood strut kit: two billet firewall brackets and two 5" billet hood brackets that replace the stainless brackets the kit came with.
Do I need new hardware?
No. The brackets work with all the hardware from your original hood strut kit. New hardware can be added at the top of the page if you want it.
How do I know it fits my truck?
This part is listed for 1947–1954 Chevy and GMC 3100, 3600, 3800 and Suburban. The full year, make and model list is in the Truck Compatibility tab on this page. If your truck has been modified, or you are between two of the year ranges we list, send us the year, make and model and we will confirm the fit before you order rather than after.
How long before it ships?
It is a stock item and generally ships within 1-3 business days. Carrier transit time is on top of that, and larger orders can arrive in more than one box on different days.
What if it is not right for the truck?
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. The part needs to come back new, uninstalled and in its original packaging - once a part has been trimmed or welded it cannot go back. Return shipping is at your cost, and we ask that returns come by Canada Post. Made-to-order, sale and clearance items are final sale. The full terms are on our returns page.
Can I install this myself?
It is designed for an at-home install. Read the fitment notes and the Installation tab on this page before you start for anything that needs drilling, trimming or welding, and where an installation guide or video exists for the part it is linked there.
