Common questions
Will it work with my factory handles?
Yes. The latches are vehicle specific and work with the stock exterior handles, interior handles and lock cylinders. A shaved-handle version is offered for doors with no outside handles where the option is listed at the top of the page.
Do I have to cut or weld?
No welding. The kit bolts on, and the jamb plates are contoured to match the factory features of your doors.
Does one kit do both doors?
Yes, one kit covers both doors.
How do I know it fits my truck?
This part is listed for 1955–1959 Chevy and GMC 3100, 3600, 3800 and Suburban. The full year, make and model list is in the Truck Compatibility tab on this page. If your truck has been modified, or you are between two of the year ranges we list, send us the year, make and model and we will confirm the fit before you order rather than after.
How long before it ships?
It is a stock item and generally ships within 1-3 business days. Carrier transit time is on top of that, and larger orders can arrive in more than one box on different days.
What if it is not right for the truck?
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. The part needs to come back new, uninstalled and in its original packaging - once a part has been trimmed or welded it cannot go back. Return shipping is at your cost, and we ask that returns come by Canada Post. Made-to-order, sale and clearance items are final sale. The full terms are on our returns page.
