Description
This WAMRODS kit converts the hood hinges on a 1973–1987 Chevy or GMC Squarebody from the old style springs over to gas struts. The struts damp better than tired factory springs, so the hood opens and closes more smoothly, and the mounting adds alignment, rigidity and support.

Will it work with a fibreglass hood?
The kit is designed for steel hoods only.
How do I know it fits my truck?

How long before it ships?
It is a stock item and generally ships within 1-3 business days. Carrier transit time is on top of that, and larger orders can arrive in more than one box on different days.
What if it is not right for the truck?
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. The part needs to come back new, uninstalled and in its original packaging - once a part has been trimmed or welded it cannot go back. Return shipping is at your cost, and we ask that returns come by Canada Post. Made-to-order, sale and clearance items are final sale. The full terms are on our returns page.
Can I install this myself?
It is designed for an at-home install. Read the fitment notes and the Installation tab on this page before you start for anything that needs drilling, trimming or welding, and where an installation guide or video exists for the part it is linked there.
